From time to time, IRC offices may experience an event that impacts the emotional well-being of groups of staff or staff as a whole. A few examples of these situations could include:
  • Experience of violence
  • Loss of a staff member
  • Traumatic event in the community
  • Program closure, resulting in large scale retrenchment

During these times, it can be helpful to have a counselor lead group support sessions remotely and/or to be available for staff. The Duty of Care Program can arrange for this service upon request. To access a counselor remotely for your office, please submit your request through the “Contact” button on the top right of this page.

In many cases the fees associated with this service can be covered by the Duty of Care program, so please do not hesitate to reach out if your team could benefit from this support.
